Sunday Handbuilding Workshop // Japanese kurinuki & other boxes 1750czk

Summary

Get handbuilding! -Beginner welcome – Intensive 3.5h -  Making and decorating of 2 ceramic boxes in different techniques (kurinuki, slab building, carving) -2h glazing included after firing -max 5 participants – semi private class

Note: This is a handbuilding workshop. Students will not be using the wheel.

Sunday 9 – 1 pm:  Students will learn the basics of two handbuilding techniques: Japanese intuitive and impetuous "kurinuki" and more geometrical and precise slabbuilding. The first part of the lesson will be devoted to the process of creating objects and the second to their personalisation and decoration.

Glazing session : As pieces made in mentioned techniques need time to dry, they will be fired within 2 weeks   (check with your teacher that your piece has been fired before coming to glaze) and students will be able to come back to glaze their work for 2 hours with help & supervision. (time and date can be discussed)

PRICE 

The price includes everything from tutoring, firings and materials including a rubber coffee lid and paper coffee filter.

LEVEL 

We tailor the workshops according to your level. Anyone wanting to discover new ceramic techniques or learn interesting shapes is welcome :p

PICK UP

Students will be able to take home with them their finished pieces after the two ceramic firings.

Your pieces will be fired within the next week following your glazing 🙂
