GLAZING CLASS
Friday evening Glazing (coloring) 6.30-8pm // or glazing by the teacher available free of charge
Summary // Students will learn how to center, open and pull up 2 pieces using the potter's wheel. They will create a traditional Japanese inspired Matcha Chawan mixing & pouring bowl and a Chasen ceramic whisk holder. They will also learn how to finish their work and personalize them with the help of the many textures and tools available at the studio.
Technical aspects:
- Learn to shape a cylinder on the potter's wheel, open into a bowl and shape a curve.
- Learn how to shape the perfect height and width for your Chawan mixing bowl.
- Learn how to shape an elegant and functional pouring spout.
- Learn how to create intricate curves and angles so your ceramic holder fits your whisk nicely.
- Add decorative elements such as textures, carvings, stamps & relief that fit your personality.
GLAZING
Students have 2 options for their painting session.
- GLAZING BY THE TEACHER> You will be able to choose among a large selection of colors and styles specially chosen for the studio. Your teacher will fire and glaze your pieces for you and they'll be ready for pickup in 2 weeks.
- GLAZING BY THE STUDENT> Alternatively you can also come back to the studio and glaze your pieces yourself on a Friday between 6.30-8pm free of charge. The date will be decided together with your teacher.
PICK UP
Students can come pick up their pieces on Saturdays between 4-8pm.
PRICE
The price is per person and includes everything from tutoring, materials, firings and glazing by the teacher.
LEVEL
We tailor the workshops according to your level. Anyone wanting to discover the wheel or improve their skills is very welcome :p

Terra is a small local business that depends entirely on its classes and courses. If you decide to commit to a class please do make sure that you can attend.
In case of absence, we will try our best to accomodate the student in another workshop with the condition that we can find a replacement for the missed class. Full refunds are only possible with the condition that we can find a replacement for the missed class.
